Tila Beads and the Jewel Loom ~ A Love Affair

I just had to try my hand working with Tila Beads and the Jewel Loom. WOW…they go together like PB & J! Martha Richardson here to share a bracelet I created on the Jewel Loom.

Tila Beads on Jewel Loom

When working with Tila Beads on the Jewel Loom you will have to create a new weaving pattern with your warp threads. The Tila Beads were 5mm x 5mm which were equal to two  8/0 seed beads.

I did try a couple of different options and bead sizes but this worked the best. The next part was figuring out how to work with a square bead that actually has two holes instead of one. Here is the finished bracelet before I had my bracelet closure.

I decided to try my hand at a different type of clasp and I found a great video created by Julianna Hudgins that pointed me in the right direction. You will find the video here. Using ultra suede and leather cord I was able to create a bracelet that slides on to your wrist and tightened when you adjust the leather cords.

Supplies Used:

Beadalon Jewel Loom

Beadalon Wildfire ~ Green .15mm

Miyuke Seed Beads TILA Matte Green Iris 5mm 2 hole

Seed Bead 8/0 Picasso Blue

Ultra Suede, Leather Cord and Misc. Silver Spacers

I enjoyed working with the Tila Beads. It did take a little longer to get the process down but once I did it went together smoothly. I hope you will give this a try!

Thanks for stopping by!
