Good morning…Martha Richardson here with a Jewel Loom project that was created out of “oh no’s” and “oh my’s”. This project started off with a grand idea of making a wide bracelet out of several gorgeous colors of size 6/0 seed beads on my Jewel Loom. It wasn’t too long before I realized that it was going to be way too wide and I wouldn’t have enough seed beads…OH NO! I took a short break too calm myself down and proceeded to cleanup a small section of my studio that was a MESS! As I was doing this I found an art journal cover that I had created from an online class I took and as I was looking at it I realized that the colors were very similiar to my seed beads on my Jewel Loom…OH MY! I realized that this would be the solution to 2 problems…finishing the art journal cover and using what I created from the Jewel Loom.
Here is the finished project…what do you think? I decided to create a seed bead strap that I could slip the cotton ribbon through to hold the cover closed.
Here is the project just removed from the Jewel Loom, you are seeing it in it’s raw form before I finished it and attached it to a small piece of Ultra Suede. The colors of the seed beads on the screen do not represent the true colors. I used a matte burgundy, a shiny rose, high polish gold and a matte multi shade.
Here is the finished art journal cover…the front, open and the back cover.

I’m so pleased with the final result and I’m always stunned when 2 different projects come together and seem so perfect together!
