I used the Jewel Loom™ to create the the affinity band for the front of the journal. The affinity band was made in the same way I would have to make an affinity band base for a bracelet. Click HERE to check out Julianna’s instructional video on using the Jewel Loom™.
These are some of the supplies I used to alter the journal. I used Plaid® FolkArt® Vintage White Acrylic Paint on the journal and the metal flowers. Then I rubbed off some of the paint on the flowers before it was completly dry to reveal some of the metal. I used Pastel 6/0 Seed Beads from Blue Moon Beads® and the Jewel Loom™ to create the affinity band. I also used some crochet lace trim and several colors of seam binding (not shown) from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I started by gluing the pink crochet lace trim to the back of the affinity band using hot glue. Then I attached this piece to the front of the journal. Next I added the natural crochet lace trim around the edges of the journal. I added the metal flowers with pearls going down the center of the affinity band.
Here is a close up of the beads, metal flowers with pearls and crochet lace trim.
To finish off the journal I added several colors of seam binding to the wire coil.
I hope you enjoyed my project today and remember you can create all kinds of beautiful and unique projects with the Jewel Loom™.
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today!
I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
