Jewel Earrings with Shrink Art

Sorry, this project is Out for Publication

Hello!  Heidi here to share a pair of fun shrink art earring using the New S5-143 Jewel Flowers & Flourishes and S5-144 Jewel Sentiments die templates from Julianna’s Positively Me Designer Collection from Spellbinders™.

I love using Shrinky Dinks Shrink Art to create jewelry.  It is quick and easy to work with but what I love more is that I can make custom jewelry to match any outfit!

To create these earrings I used Crystal Clear Shrinky Dinks.  I started but cutting the shapes using one of the tags from Jewel Sentiments and two of the flowers from Jewel Flowers & Flourishes.

Then I followed the instructions on the package for baking time and temperature.  Here is a picture so you can see just how much the die cuts shrunk in size after being heated up.

Next I used Copic markers and the air brush system to add color to the shapes.  I like using the Crystal Clear Shrinky Dinks and then adding color with Copics.  The die cut pieces almost look like colored glass.

I wanted to add a little sparkle to the die cut shapes so I brushed on some Scrap Happy Sheer Glue and then I applied Diamond Clear Glitter to all of the pieces.

Layered and glued the die cut shapes using Glossy Accents by Ranger.  Then I added pearls and I used the Stick “EM” Up Tool from The Rubber Cafe for perfect placement of the pearls.  Then I applied Glossy Accents to the entire piece.

I used a Round Nose Pliers from Beadalon to add the jump rings and french hook.

These earrings were so quick and easy to make!  I hope you enjoyed the tutorial and you are inspired to give shrink art a try!  If you do we would love to see some pictures.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Hugs,

Heidi
